We are currently receiving numerous inquiries regarding the extent to which our plastic containers and bottles are affected by the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and whether we provide corresponding declarations of conformity.

We are pleased to provide the necessary information upon request. First, however, an essential distinction must be made: Many of our products (such as laboratory supplies, measuring and dispensing containers, and technical processing aids) legally qualify as utility items and utensils rather than packaging, meaning they do not fall within the scope of the PPWR.

Whether a statutory PPWR obligation applies to an individual item is clearly and transparently documented in our statements.

If you require documentation for your purchased items, we will gladly provide our informational statement upon request. This includes a customer-specific product summary based on your purchases over the past two years.

The following legal framework conditions apply to these verifications:

  • Grandfathering for existing stock: The regulation does not apply retroactively. For all items delivered to you prior to the cutoff date of August 12, 2026, the PPWR does not apply. No substance verification or material documentation is required for these inventories.
  • Validity for newly manufactured goods: The provided product list serves as a reference. The PPWR conformity confirmed therein applies exclusively to newly manufactured goods produced and placed on the market from August 12, 2026 onwards.

Current Status of the Regulation

At present, only Article 5 of the PPWR has entered into force, regulating substance restrictions (such as heavy metals and PFAS). Further articles and obligations will become effective in phased stages in the future. We continuously monitor these implementation timelines and will adjust our documentation procedures accordingly as subsequent legal requirements take effect.
