Effective with the 2023 price list, previous quantity discounts on mixed purchases of the Express glue syringes have been replaced by tiered pricing per individual line item.
Discounts on mixed purchases could not be automated by our ERP system. This resulted in a relatively high and unfortunately sometimes error-prone manual effort.
On the customer side, this system often proved to be intransparent and cumbersome to maintain.
We did not convert quantity discounts 1:1 into tiered pricing, but rather sought a solution where the vast majority of customers are priced at least equally well, and in some cases even better, for the most common order configurations. In the example below, you can see the changes in red:
- the higher tiers are now reached sooner, starting at 500 and 1,000 units
- the discount levels are consistently higher
As a result, unit prices per piece are consistently lower compared to the previous method.
