Key Features of Sterile HDPE Water Sampling Bottles

While achieving sterility during manufacturing is standard practice, preserving it reliably until sampling occurs requires strict quality control. For this reason, our sterile sampling bottles are fitted with a tamper-evident screw closure. Bottles are supplied packaged inside a protective PE liner bag. Because individual bottles are not singly wrapped, the interior is sterile while the exterior remains non-sterile.

Each bottle features a molded graduation scale with 50 ml increments for quick volume checks. The tamper-evident ring confirms that the container remained unopened prior to sampling. Fabricated from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), these water sampling bottles are pre-dosed with sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O3). This compound neutralizes free chlorine and ozone in water samples, preventing ongoing biocidal action and safeguarding accurate microbiological test results.

These narrow-neck containers are translucent white, sealed with a red tamper-evident cap, and available in standard 250 ml and 500 ml capacities.

Properties of Sterile Octagonal PET Bottles

Sterile octagonal bottles made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) serve as versatile containers across all environments requiring verified sterility. Common applications include microbiology, cell culture preparation, and food analytics. The virgin polymer complies with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 for direct contact with foodstuffs.

Like the HDPE models, these octagonal bottles are packed in multi-unit box quantities. A tamper-evident PP cap maintains internal sterility until initial opening.

Key Quality Attributes:

  • Validated sterility via irradiation compliant with ISO 11137
  • Food contact compliance in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004
  • Tamper-evident closure and molded graduation scale in 50 ml increments
  • Octagonal geometry for secure handling and space-efficient storage

These crystal-clear PET bottles are available in 500 ml and 1,000 ml sizes. Alongside narrow-neck containers, we supply a broad range of wide-mouth bottles for viscous products, powders, and solid sampling.

Primary Areas of Application

Sterile HDPE bottles dosed with sodium thiosulfate are primarily utilized for regulatory drinking water inspections, legionella testing, and environmental monitoring across surface waters, reservoirs, and commercial aquaculture.

Crystal-clear sterile PET bottles are widely used for laboratory media preparation, retention samples in pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing, and diagnostic buffer storage. For liquid extraction and metering, we also supply sterile single-use laboratory consumables such as Pasteur pipettes.
