VITgrip – The All-Round Laboratory Bottle
The VITgrip™ laboratory bottle by VITLAB is a versatile polypropylene container designed for storage, sampling, and liquid handling in laboratory environments. Key engineering features include an ergonomic grip area, dual-sided volume graduation with ± 5 % accuracy, and an integrated sealing geometry designed to prevent leakage.
Ergonomic Handling
The slender, contoured waist significantly improves handling compared to conventional cylindrical bottles. The combination of an ergonomic profile and low tare weight facilitates single-handed operation in daily laboratory routines. Molded, raised graduation markings provide additional slip resistance when working with wet laboratory gloves. The absence of dirt-trapping edges and the use of hydrophobic polypropylene enable thorough, residue-free cleaning. With graduations embossed on both sides, liquid volumes remain visible and easy to read during pouring for both right- and left-handed operators.
Shatter Resistance and Sealing Integrity
Accidental impacts can cause glass bottles to break, posing severe cut hazards and contamination risks from spilled reagents. VITgrip™ plastic bottles eliminate glass hazards through high structural impact resistance. The bottle thread and cap profile are precision-matched, forming a reliable seal directly at the neck cone without requiring separate elastomeric liners or gaskets. This eliminates gasket degradation, chemical corrosion, or trace contamination from sealing inserts.
Secure Storage with Tamper-Evident Closures
VITgrip™ bottles are supplied complete with a tamper-evident screw cap. Upon initial opening, the integrated tear ring separates cleanly from the base of the cap, providing unmistakable visual confirmation that the seal has been broken. This ensures sample integrity for retention samples and protects sensitive media during transit between sampling points and analytical laboratories. After breaking the tamper-evident ring, the cap continues to function as a dependable screw closure. All VITgrip™ models feature a standardized GL 45 neck thread and a uniformly molded pouring lip for smooth, drip-free decanting.
Material Specifications and Regulatory Compliance
VITgrip™ laboratory bottles and closures are manufactured in Germany from high-grade polypropylene (PP), offering broad chemical compatibility against most common acids, alkalis, and aliphatic alcohols. Furthermore, the bottles and supplied VITLAB® tamper-evident caps are fully certified for food contact pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.
* Notice regarding leak-tightness testing: Leak-proof performance is validated under specific standardized test conditions: bottle filled to 50 % capacity with distilled water, sealed with the genuine VITLAB® tamper-evident cap at 5 Nm torque, inverted onto the cap for 15 minutes at room temperature (20 °C) and atmospheric pressure without liquid egress. Operating conditions in field use vary based on chemical composition, vapor pressure, temperature, and mechanical stress, meaning operational suitability must be verified independently for critical applications.
